Found in Downtown Raleigh, NC, The Cotton Room is by far one of the favorite wedding venues I have ever photographed.
The location is a historic, all-inclusive wedding and event venue, originally used in the 1900s as a textile factory. And if you’re hoping for a versatile space for getting ready, holding your ceremony, and having an amazing wedding reception, The Cotton Room is the perfect place.
The couple opted for my Full Day package, which is always my favorite to shoot. This included time for an entire day of wedding coverage. Being with a couple and their guests for the entire day gives them more of a chance to spend time and get comfortable with me. One of the main benefits of getting married at The Cotton Room is it can host up to 400 guests, but still is intimate enough for a few dozen to enjoy a gathering.
WEDDING TIP: Consider a venue that is beautiful just the way it is. The Cotton Room definitely is a venue that doesn’t need a lot of decorations to look good. This especially makes it easy if decorating is not your thing!
“Greta was beyond phenomenal. The photos turned out incredible — they truly surpassed my expectation. She was extremely easy to get in touch with and was incredibly professional. Beyond that, however, Greta was an incredible human on that day. There is no doubt that weddings can be stressful and overwhelming, but Greta stepped up and made both of us feel relaxed, she joked around with us, and she uplifted the mood. She was literally the best person we could have gotten for the job. If you book her, you will be beyond satisfied with the quality of her work, her professionalism, and above all her incredible attitude! WE LOVE GRETA!!”

“We fell in love with The Cotton Room the moment we entered those doors. Very beautiful on the inside and the suites were very accommodating. Everything went smoothly from the tour, contract signing, planning, menu selections, sip sessions, rehearsal, and the day of our big day. We are truly grateful for Melissa, our coordinating all of this!”
“The Cotton Room was awesome, I had an idea for how I wanted everything to look and they helped make it tangible. It was great rolling catering and décor into their sister companies (Petal and Oak) and made things easier. Devon was our assigned planner and she was great to work with, super receptive and very open to communication. My event went off perfectly and a lot of that was thanks to the venue for making everything run smoothly.”
“I cannot express how amazing my wedding was here at the Cotton Room. … The day of, was absolutely stress free and magical. … Once the ceremony started it was a like a dream. The venue was so beautiful. And the food was FANTASTIC!”
From a mother of the bride: “I know your venue has hosted a zillion weddings, and they may all blur together for you. But our night, as Liz just said to me on the phone, was “the best day of my life!” Thank you for being a part of that special memory that my daughter will cherish forever!”
Needless to say, a wedding at The Cotton Room means getting the best of the best…which is exactly what you deserve. From the help of the owner, the incredible spaces, spacious and luxurious accommodation, to the rustic yet modern feel, this wedding venue truly is one-of-a-kind.
A few more moments from Zachary and Ana’s wedding day… They got married at Duke Chapel and we visited the Duke Gardens for their post-ceremony photographs. It was truly one of the most beautiful days. I love this couple so much.
