wedding photography mn – sebastian + amanda

Some wedding photography in MN from the Jurvakainen’s wedding day!!

Starting off this post from Sebastian and Amanda’s wedding with my favorite part of the day… golden hour! These photos took less than ten minutes. If I can recommend one thing it’d be to take the time to do THIS. There is nothing like that just married glow PLUS the light is so. much. better. than that harsh midday light that you get earlier in the day for your portraits.

Nothing like the mornings of a wedding day. A slow morning, with pretty details, and the buzz of excitement and nervousness in the air while getting ready for their special day.

Bride and groom portraits are one of my favorite parts of wedding photography in MN! Spending time with the couple alone as they enter this exciting chapter in their life. It’s so much fun!

Their amazing bridal party, what a fun group!

+ a classic MN stop at Caribou for a pick-me-up on our way back to the church 🙂

So special to have families together for occasions like this.

A beautiful ceremony:

Aaaand their reception! With the coolest car for their getaway!! What a good day.

Tips for your wedding photography in MN:

  1. Embrace the Seasons: Minnesota experiences four distinct seasons, each offering its own unique charm. Consider the weather and select a season that aligns with your vision for the wedding. Whether it’s a picturesque winter wonderland wedding, a vibrant spring celebration, a sunny summer event, or a romantic fall gathering, embracing the seasonal beauty will enhance the overall ambiance.
  2. Choose the Perfect Venue: Minnesota boasts a wide range of stunning wedding venues, catering to different preferences. From charming barns and rustic lodges to elegant ballrooms and lakeside resorts, the options are endless. Research and visit various venues to find the one that best suits your style, guest capacity, and desired atmosphere.
  3. Be Mindful of Outdoor Weddings: With its scenic landscapes and picturesque lakes, Minnesota offers incredible outdoor wedding possibilities. However, it is crucial to have a backup plan in case of unpredictable weather. Consider renting a tent or securing an indoor space at the venue to ensure your special day can go on smoothly, rain or shine.
  4. Incorporate Local Flavors: Minnesota is known for its delicious local cuisine, so consider incorporating regional dishes and flavors into your wedding menu. From walleye and wild rice dishes to mouthwatering Scandinavian-inspired desserts, adding a touch of local culinary delights will give your guests a true taste of Minnesota.
  5. Plan for Transportation: If your wedding involves multiple locations, ensure that transportation arrangements are made for your guests. This could include coordinating shuttle services or providing clear directions to different venues. Additionally, if you have out-of-town guests, provide them with information about nearby accommodation options and transportation methods from the airport.
  6. Explore Seasonal Decor: Enhance the wedding ambiance with seasonal decor that complements your chosen wedding date. Incorporate elements like autumnal foliage, winter-inspired centerpieces, or spring blooms to create a visually stunning atmosphere that reflects the beauty of Minnesota.
  7. Incorporate Local Traditions: Minnesota has a rich cultural heritage, so consider incorporating some local traditions into your wedding. From traditional Scandinavian wedding customs to Native American rituals, adding these elements can make your celebration even more unique and meaningful.
  8. Capture the Scenic Beauty: Minnesota’s natural beauty provides breathtaking backdrops for wedding photos. Work with your photographer to scout picturesque locations nearby and take
